Privacy Policy
The short version: BOAVIDA does not collect any personal data. Everything you enter stays on your iPhone. There is no account, no server, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We cannot see, access or recover your entries.
1. Who we are
The BOAVIDA app and this website are provided by BOAVIDA, LDA, Rua de São Paulo, 37, 1200-426 Lisboa, Portugal (“BOAVIDA”, “we”, “us”). The person responsible for the app is our managing director, Custódio Tabuada. You can contact us about privacy at any time at hello@boavida.app.
2. Information that stays on your device
To work, the app stores the information you enter yourself:
- the life areas you choose, including names of custom areas;
- your daily ratings (1–5) and the “one good thing” you write;
- small steps you add and mark as done;
- app settings, such as reminder time, language and Face ID lock.
This information is stored only in the app’s private storage on your iPhone and is encrypted by iOS. It is never sent to us or to anyone else. We have no copy of it and cannot restore it if it is lost.
3. Information we collect
None. BOAVIDA does not ask for your name, email, phone number, age, gender or location. The app does not contain analytics, advertising or tracking tools, does not use the advertising identifier and does not access Apple Health, your contacts, photos or camera. The app makes no network requests, except opening this website when you tap a link such as Privacy Policy or Terms of Use.
4. Face ID and Touch ID
If you turn on the optional app lock, authentication is handled entirely by Apple. BOAVIDA only receives a “success” or “failure” result and never has access to your biometric data.
5. Reminders
Daily reminders are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone. Their text is neutral and does not include your ratings or entries, because notifications can be visible on the lock screen.
6. Export and backups
You can export your data using the iOS Share Sheet. You choose where the file goes, and that destination is outside our control. Like other apps, BOAVIDA data may be included in your own iCloud or computer backups, which are managed by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy.
7. When you contact us
If you email our support, we receive your email address and the content of your message. We use them only to answer you, on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing support, and delete the correspondence no later than 12 months after the issue is resolved. Please do not send us your journal entries — we never need them.
8. Apple and the App Store
The app is distributed through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes data about your download and purchase history under its own privacy policy. If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymous statistics (for example, number of installs). These do not identify you.
9. This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics or third-party scripts. Our hosting provider may process standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and time of the request) to keep the website secure and running. We do not use these logs to identify visitors.
10. Deleting your data
You can delete a single entry, step or custom area in the app, or delete all data in Settings → Your data. Deleting the app also removes its data from your iPhone; a copy may remain in your own backups until they are replaced.
11. Your rights
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Because the app does not send us any data, these rights apply mainly to support emails. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), or the authority in your country.
If you live in the United States: we do not sell or share personal information, do not use it for targeted advertising and do not collect sensitive personal information or consumer health data. You may contact us with any request under your state’s privacy law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
12. Children
BOAVIDA is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
13. Not a medical service
BOAVIDA is a personal reflection tool. It is not a medical, psychological or diagnostic service and does not give health advice.
14. Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect. If the app ever starts collecting data, we will explain it here and in the App Store privacy details first.
